Maintenance Electrician

The Maintenance Electrician will be embedded at a client site located in Charlotte, NC.  He/She will be responsible for, but not limited to: general plant electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrading electrical equipment for product packaging; installation and repair of process flow, level, pressure and temperature transmitters; and working with Project Managers on installations and commissioning.  This person needs to be able to work independently as well as with a team.  The majority of the work is general plant electrical maintenance (i.e. our team is responsible for installing and maintaining all plant lighting: 120vac – 480vac).
 
Job Highlights
  • Shift: Dayshift
  • Hours: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
  • On call rotation that will be a period of one week. On call starts on Tuesday and ends the next Tuesday.
  • 4x10 rotation (Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM) – Allows you to have a 3-day weekend before going on call.

Responsibilities
The Maintenance Electrician will be embedded at a client site located in Charlotte, NC where we have been since 2008. He/She will be responsible for, but not limited to:
 
  • Diagnosing and correcting problems associated with packaging equipment such as palletizers, stretch wrappers, box erectors, and glue machines.
  • Assisting the field operators and supervisors with troubleshooting and repairing valves or instrumentation that’s holding out a process.
  • Troubleshoot and repair heat trace on process piping.
  • Setup and commission instrumentation for flow, level, pressure, and temperature.
  • Perform electrical preventative maintenance on various pieces of equipment.
  • Work with and troubleshoot 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC.
  • Document work and time in SAP.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree or High School Diploma and equivalent years of experience
  • 2-5 years experience troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical equipment.
  • Knowledge & experience with machine automation (troubleshooting and maintenance)
  • 2-5 years experience calibrating instruments (pressure, flow, temperature, etc.
  • 2+ years working in manufacturing environment.
  • Comfortable troubleshooting with a digital multimeter
  • Experience troubleshooting 480VAC, 120VAC, and 24VDC.
  • Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate knowledge, skills and competencies, along with examples of previous work.
  • Lift more than 25 pounds
  • Travel up to 0-10%
  • Must be willing & able to work some weekends and holidays.
  • Must be willing to work "on call" rotation.
